A message from the Corporate Director
Thank you for your interest in working with Harrow to achieve the best possible outcomes for our children, young people and families. I hope you find the information on this site stimulating and that you want to come and join our team.
Harrow has a high performing education sector. We are ambitious about what we can achieve together and have started thinking about how we plan for the future. We are looking for a leader with vision and ambition who understands the changing role of the local authority in relation to the diversity of providers and increasing autonomy of schools. We are looking for a leader who can bring ambition and excellence to both our education sector and the commissioning of all internal and external children and families services.
You will make a real difference shaping the future through your inclusive, future-focused strategic vision for education and commissioning. You will be building on our successful partnerships with schools, colleges, early years providers, internal Council services, health and the voluntary sector. These relationships are critical to our work.
We are putting in place excellent commissioning, but as you will be aware this is a long journey and we want to do more. Already we can demonstrate service improvements through significantly improved contracting, internal service planning, and service redesign, with plans underway to embed co-production. We are looking for a leader who understands the transformational impact good commissioning can have and will put our commissioning team at the forefront of national practice.
As we all know, statutory, financial and other demand-led changes are set to continue, with Local Welfare reform and the benefits cap implications just starting to impact locally. We have started working with schools and other education providers to begin to mitigate some of the adverse impacts on children and families. We are looking for a principled and determined leader who can take this forward.
We have reviewed our new operating model that was implemented in 2011, and recently realigned aspects to achieve more with less. This new role is part of that realignment. We are confident that we can offer you an exciting, challenging opportunity to shine as part of our newly restructured Children and Families Senior Management Team.
As well as your professional expertise, vision and ambition, we are particularly interested in your strong educational background, successful experience of transformational change, commissioning and innovation, and significant and extensive track record of school improvement.
